All of the sudden, my computer does not recognize my CD drive. It worked fine
in the past. When I clilck on "my computer" the drive is not listed. When i
put a CD in the drive, it does nothing. but there is a red light on the CPU.
I am technology challenged and have no idea where to begin troubleshooting
the problem. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

If it's not a case of a loose cable, then the drive is probably bad. I've
had two of these blow out this year. I can normally get 2 - 3 years use out
of one.

I just bought my computer within the last 6 months and have not used the cd
rom drive. I don't know why, but when I put in a disk, it will not read it. I
believe you need to go to support and have them help you out with it. I've
tried that in the past and it will work out fine. They let you know whats
wrong and normally can fix it.
