My comp slowing down

SYSTEM:
*) win2000Pro SP4; 512 Mb RAM; P4; 1,8MHz; HDD 80Gb..
ZoneAlarmPro, NortonSystemworks.
*) I did all of them: defragment disc, clean all temp
folders, and antivirus and anti.. everything
*) have (so) many instaled programs (about 120)
*) I rarely shut down comp - averige: every three days.
*) (And my comp is almost new one - i have it just ten
months with two years warranty)

SYMPTOMS:
*) In last few months (especially last one) opening
aplications, and its work is a few times slower.
*) Right click on mice sometimes have to wait for 2 sec
(especially on internet)
*) Web pages also opening slower (have 128 kbps)
*) and so on.. behave like memmory is full, but not -
averige is 350 Mb;
*) and same is when work in safe mode..

SITUATION AND QUESTIONS:

1) In Event viewer I found:
a) ID 7: error - disk - "The device,
\Device\Hardisk0\DR0, has a bad block"
b) ID 52: warning - disk - "The driver has
detected that device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 has predicted
that it will fail. Immediately back up your data and
replace your hard disk drive. A failure may be
imminent. "
c) ID 206: error - NetDDE - "Listen failed: 23:
The ncb_lana_num member did not specify a valid network
number. "

[ a) and c) item appears randomly (sometimes in ten
times on day)(but in last week both dissapear!!) and d)
only one time ].
If this is a main couse - can I ask for a new one from my
vendor, not only fomatting? (is under warranty )

2) In Task Manager I found MDM.EXE .. under Page Faults
colon stays: 25 701 000 !!; and under PF Delta stays: 206
(all other processes has zero).. (I don't know how to
interprete the Task Manager numbers.. maby there is more
wears numbers ..i don't know) Is this one normall?

3) Norton sysDoctor gives alert: Paging file size is
large - 765 (Alarm is on 745).( And another sensor: PFU
Usage - 263 , seems to be ok).
Maby this couse the problem?

4) After I remove w32blaster worm.. Norton Disc doctor
test cannot fix disk - give me popup: "Operating Sys, or
another proces have exclusive acces to hard drive or some
files.. would you like to schedule on next startup?" - i
click Yes - but same thing on next startup happens!
Does this is sign for something is wrong?

5) ZoneAlarm detected two programs to need server
permision:
a) DLLHOST.EXE - which is explains
like "malicious"!! file of COM Surrogate program?
b) SAT.EXE - file in WINNT dir, part of program
MFC Anwendung ? (I delete this, its again appears, and i
again delete)
Can these programs couses my problems?

6) I killed all "killable" processes in Task Mng.. but
the lowest number is 29 processes. Is it too large?

I have to excuse myself for so large (and maby somehow
stupid) post...

smells like a virus. Perhaps back up data and reinstall? Just make sure you
scan your backups before putting back on your computer.

I'd do the online virus scan at
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
as it should be up to date.

Then DL startup.cpl at
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
to see just how many of your programs are messing around behind your back.
Especially with so many programs installed it's virtually certain that some are
trying to load stuff when Win boots.

Then Dl, install, and run AdAware from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
There is a scrolling list of flags of different countries. If you can find yours, you
might be able to DL in your own country's language if you like.
That should let you kill off processes that are a little trickier than those that those
that modify Win to let themselves start up.

Next I would DL the old trusty M$ Regclean 4.1a and run it to clean up your registry.
Regcleaner from http://www.jv16.org/ will also let you kill off orphan file references and
such.

Last I would DL, install, run RegCompact. You can get it here;

Your registry structure gets bloated and never really slims down on it's own.
