My 4 quetions

Hello PapaJohn, et al, Greetings!
I've completed a movie project and saved in DV-AVI over 10GB size in one 60 minute MiniDV tape and also saved in my hard drive. To
burn DVD from my DVD-RW I can use DV-AVI in my hard drive or I can also use the tape to record to my DVD Recorder and choose
1-hour of recording for optimum quality video.

My questions are:
1. Will it fit into a 4.7GB DVD-R? And also true in both method of burning?

2. Why is that in DVD Recorder we can choose 1hr, 2hrs, 4hrs, & even 6hrs of recording quality and not possible in DVD-RW method?

3. How I could record directly to DVD Recorder by using my hard drive DV-AVI files? Both PC & DVD Recorder has IEEE-1394 in/out
port BUT MM2 has no #6 choices to select "DVD Recorder" out.

I'm positively sure BUT never try yet for No. 1 on my DVD Recorder because I'm waiting for a better solution to my last problem in
earlier posts of; How I could write long Credits names at the end of movie and using Scrolling Up Animation? I've tried using 4
Credits clips by joining them but the joints has short blank video portion (I even tried lapping joints) ---consider lousy in
scrolling animation and I've to type a period [ . ] at the beginning of 2nd and up to last Credits clips because without the
period there --- all my names were deleted in the first & top entries when I go back to make edit. Could it be a bug?

Again, I really need your kind help, TIA.

You can put about an hour of good quality video on a DVD..... so maybe
you're aligned.

The suggestions to save as DV-AVI is for those heading toward DVDs also, not
just those going back to tape.

This may answer your question about scrolling credits.

I had a long list of credits on a 2 and a half hour movie I made of a two
month trip round China.

I actually transferred the DVD-AVI edited version files per MM1 back to the
tapes and then transferred to VCR.

Also burned an edited down version of the DVD-AVI files using Nero Express
SE to two DVD's, about an hour of movie time each.

Under Credits and Titles I chose.... Credits - Scroll up stacked.

I was able to make 34 credits, and could have added more! Bit hard to
explain, but the left hand side uses smaller letters than the right hand
side, so I inserted the name on the right side, and comments on the left.
Just hit enter each time you insert text and it will scroll down a section
to add more.

I'm positively sure BUT never try yet for No. 1 on my DVD Recorder because

Hello Noelle,
Thank You for your input BUT it didn't work for me and I've to used over-lapping in joining 2 Scrolling Credits. I'm happy with
only one joint now.

Here's my finding:
Under Credits and Titles I chose.... Credits - Scroll up stacked.
< I don't have to chose it because it is a Default choice but I can choose others Title Animations.
I was able to make 34 credits, and could have added more! Bit hard to
explain, but the left hand side uses smaller letters than the right hand
side, so I inserted the name on the right side, and comments on the left.
Just hit enter each time you insert text and it will scroll down a section
to add more.
< The same with me, MM2 allowed us to expand the entries by using Tab or Enter Keys
< but no good use after you transfer to hard drive or DV camera for DV-AVI movie file.
< Yes, we can view the complete long Credits names in MSWMM. But if you view your
< DV-AVI file --- anything that are over the 16 entries will shown ONLY BLACK VIDEO.

Anybody can retrace my finding;
Do Credits at End of Movie. Follow Noelle instructions given and type mixed number of names; such as: 1, 2 , 3, 4, & 5 people
names. Type all in single continuous entry. If the 4 & 5 names refused then continue on next entry line. I would type "&" on left
entry, hit Enter key then continue type more names at right entry. Tip: Gives spaces between names so the 2nd name would go down
next line. Remember hit Enter every times. Do and type about 20 entries.

Play your MSWMM credits movie. Don't worry about music --- as this is only a TEST. The video or movie is Okay. BUT not after you
transfer to hard drive or to DV camera for DV-AVI file to do DVD burning later. You'll notice BLACK VIDEO after the 16 entries
(sometime less).

Here's another flaw; Try delete half of the last total 20 entries names by Select & Delete each names one at a time until you
reach #10 entries. Click Done then Play it. You'll notice the Credits clip stayed the same length of show time. Cut it by dragging
the ends and make it shorter in length. Notice the Deleted portion is still there --- because of the long blank screen.

I've also noticed only upper half of Credits Text names appeared and the lower half is missing. Most of these flaws can be fix by
starting a new Credits editing. The correct way is NOT to have long blank entries after the last Credits names being entered ---
NO Extra Entry line is correct. Impossible to delete the extras BUT you could start all over again.

Regards & All The Best,
Rino

P.S. // Wish to hear more very annual things & experienced on China trip.

Hi Rino,

Glad you have sorted the scrolling credits out to your satisfaction.

Got me thinking though, because I was pretty sure I did the China movie
credits without a join, so have just done a test.

Strange..... I typed in 21 credits, played it in MM2 OK, and then
made a DV-AVI file and played it back. In both cases all the credits
showed up.

Went back to the project and altered the clip, making it shorter.
Only 15 clips played??

So I guess it does work for me on my PC, provided I do not play around with
the clip, alter it in any way LOL.

Want to know about my travels in China - well I had quite a few adventures,
all in a way connected with my overwhelming desire to take video footage
and photos.

Hi Neolle,
Thanks again because I really got it right this time. Yes, it really strange BUT this time I got only one blank entries at the end
and it work --- one straight Credits clip only --- no more joining ;o) Maybe the many blank entries at the end affect it. I wish
we could delete those blank entries lines and possible to Select many names in group and drag them around. Maybe the software
programmers didn't figure this and don't liked to follow Windows specification. Now a days all standard Windows program are
almost the same in usages and following standard graphical user interface. If one's mastered any single Windows program then he
should knows the rest because Windows calling for standardizing.

Regarding China trip; Have you been to a Province that has the only "Square Bamboo tree" in the world? Yes, all bamboo tree
trunks are rounded BUT this is square!

Rino
