MWME001:Modem Internal Error

I have the slightest clue as to why my modem is having an error. I have a
thinkpad 770z which I just install program XP Professional. I think this
upgrade might have had a conflict with the software. I also have powerdvd 5
intalled as well and the sound is choppy and picture is crappy as well.
Before I have windows 98se and it worked fine. What suggestions that anyone
can offer to correct these minor errors to solve this problem. Any help is
better then none.
