I'm new around here: Would someone please tell me what
"MVP" stands for? Besides "most valuable player"?

The MVP Award was established by Microsoft more than nine years ago as a way
to award amazing individuals for their outstanding contributions in a wide range
of community activities. From newsgroup to top user group, websites and message
boards worldwide, MVP status is awarded to the most active online community "gurus"
for their technical expertise, voluntary willingness to share their experience and commitment to
helping others realize their potential within Microsoft technical communities.

Yep. It's an award given by MS.

"Trustworthy Computing" is only another example of an Oxymoron!
"Produkt-Aktivierung macht frei!"

Wrong!!!!!!!

It merely stands for Most Valuable Profesional, not necessarly Microsoft (that would be MMVP). Brainbench MVPs also post here.

When do you finish your Copywriter's course? Soon I hope so you can stop practicing on us.

Among others. There are also Brainbench MVPs.

Beside aren't you the one who says the P means prositute?

Yeah, I see. I was assuming the OP meant MS-MVPs, because this is a MS
group, but then again, I enjoy making an *ASS* of *U* and *ME*. [Corny,
ain't I?]

Actually, for Carey, I changed it to "pederast." He just seems the type to
me. ;-)

Seriously, while some MS-MVPs have definitely won their awards for their
Attack Dog, and Blind Faith qualities, most have been justly awarded for
their unselfish acts of helping those that have problems with MS software,
or with the different aspects of computing. The vast majority of MS-MVPs
I've encountered over the years are good honest folk. It's a shame that I'm
perceived to be an MVP-hater, because of my pointing out the FUD and lies of
the few bad apples, but I'll live with misperception, because someone needs
to stand up to their nonsense, and I'm not one to just sit idly by.

Most of the MS-MVPs that I'm familiar with, I respect, and I don't even need
to use my toes to count up few bad apples I've met up with over my time in
MS Newsgroups.

Anyway the fishing is really poor here.

I'm not really a MS-hater either. I just don't believe that any
corportation
should be a monopoly or even a near monopoly because that puts that
corporation out of the reach of the capitalistic check & balances of
competition.

And I'm really against organizations like the RIAA, the MPAA, and the BSA.
These industry advocacy groups have turned into the private gestapos for
their respective industries, and aren't in the best interest of consumers as
indivdiuals, or for the general public as a whole.

I disagree with many of the actions and policies of Microsoft, but as for
hate, I wouldn't bother spending any of that kind of emotional energy on MS.

Anyway the fishing is really poor here.

Well that really does suck! The fishies have learned to avoid your "fishing
scams." ;-)
