WRONG! MS does know that I am a real MVP, the rest of you do not and because
you cannot find out you assume I am not.

any other one including www.mvps.org is
not so get your facts right before you come here spreading lies.

The MVPs and MS do know that he is *not* a MVP.

I posted for years without letting anyone know I was an MVP because I posted
as pcbutts1. I started using my MVP status because of the few Troll MVP's
who's head started to swell up in these groups(PA Bear) and MS does nothing

That is why no one knows my real name which is searchable and public. That
fact alone pisses off the trolls.

Yes, that's right.

The MVP programme is far from perfect. But in my experience, most
genuine MVPs are willing - and indeed, greatly desire - to have their
details openly published.
[snipped]

I wish that were so. However, when I scanned through recent
contributions to this newsgroup, I quickly found one from a regular
contributor who describes himself as "MS-MVP [Mail]".

Based upon the quality of his contributions, I have little doubt that the
gentleman is an MVP. However, a search against his name at
https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/communities/mvp.aspx reports "No
results were found for your search criteria".

Surely, it should be possible to check a name against the definitive list
of MVPs (even if an individual MVP does not want to disclose his
biographical or other details). Furthermore, I would have no objection
to the use of a pseudonym, if an MVP has a genuine reason for anonymity.

Incidentally, I use Windows Live Mail as my Newsreader client program.
WLMail includes some Community Features, which allow for a special icon
to appear against contributions by MVPs. However, very few postings bear
the icon.

Would that be me, Bob? MS gives us only two choices. Remain anonymous, or
have all your personal info made public. I have expressed my opinion in
the past to MS that, IMO there should be an MS certified list of MVPs that
the public can see. IOW, a list of names of all MVPs without revealing
personal info if they do not want it published. Right now, it's all or
nothing.

I don't want to sound offensive, but I don't really want to share all the
information in my personal profile with the rest of the world. It is
really no ones business. But I /do/ want the public to be assured that I
am not an impostor.

computer cannot be touched. So I have an attitude big deal, you don't like
kill file me. I am still waiting for someone to post a link where I broke
someone's computer.

Bruce

I hope you will accept my assurance that I was not suggesting you might be
an imposter. On the contrary, I have never doubted your right to use the
MVP designation. Perhaps I could also add that I respect your absolute
right to privacy.

However, I do have a problem with the MS attitude, which is less than
helpful. That is the real issue, because newsgroup users really should
have access to a definitive list of all MVPs. That would go a long way to
discouraging spurious claims from the likes of PCB.

WRONG! MS does know that I am a real MVP, the rest of you do not and because
you cannot find out you assume I am not.

Complete nonsense! Microsoft has confirmed to many of us that you are
not an MVP, and if you were, they could tell us. Moreover, if you were
an MVP, you would be able to, and would, give us some proof. Despite
all the requests for proof you've been asked for, you have
consistently refused to provide any of us with a shred of evidence
that you are an MVP.

The result is very clear to all of us here. Despite your inability to
fool anybody, you continue to try to fool everybody and are not an
MVP.

If you disagree with me, by all means prove that I am wrong. Give us
some evidence that you are an MVP. For example, tell us in what
technical area you are an MVP and tell us the name of your lead.

So, for example, I'm a Windows Desktop Experience MVP. Are you also a
Windows Desktop Experience MVP? If so, who is your lead? If not, tell
us what your technical area is, and who your lead is.

Twaddle...

WHY are these little pogues so afraid of being IDENTIFIED?

If you have no issues with being "Identified" then why not post your
home address, your phone number, and possibly your other personal
information?

Most of us have a Usenet Identity, it's almost always a long history and
can be tracked and followed, even validated by headers and other such
things. There is no reason to attach a face to any part of the Usenet
identity as it doesn't make it any more or less valid.

Suggesting that a "real" name or some other personal trait makes a
user/post more valid is a sign of talking to a person that has never
worked with security in any capacity.

WRONG! MS does know that I am a real MVP, the rest of you do not and because
you cannot find out you assume I am not.

Wrong, real MVP's don't act like you do, don't impersonate other MVP's,
don't create pornographic filth and then post links to it in MS groups
and other groups....

My record for fixing and not breaking
computer cannot be touched.

You mean your record for pirating others tools and then editing the
credits so that they "appear" to be yours, have a great record and can't
be touched - why is it that markers inserted in the tools you copy
MONTHS before show up in your tools where they were not before?

MS has confirmed that nobody by the name of pcbutts1, Chris butts, or the
real truth is an MVP. Give them my real name and they still won't tell you
because they respect my privacy. You all blew it with all the inquires into
me and the made up name you have given me that MS will not disclose it to
anyone.

Prove it or SHUT UP! It's easy to prove without divulging your name or
private information.

Some time ago a "real" MVP told us that if you logon to the private
Microsoft MVP support site and make a post to the group via the web
interface that an MVP logo would appear by your name on your post. Not many
MVPs use the web interface but we see the MVP logo from the few that do post
via the web. Surely if you are an MVP you should be able to figure out how
to logon to the private site and make a post via the web interface. Just
post a reply to this post and be done with it!

You could put this to rest in less than two minutes and be done with it once
and for all, others would have no choice but to stop challenging you! For
once you could tell others to SHUT UP and be smug at the same time. But I
doubt that you will do this because you simply crave attention so you like
the fuss others make about your use of the MVP title... and of course you
aren't a real MVP so you cannot logon to the private MVP site to make the
simple little post. So just STFU!
