PCBUTTS himself, as this is something he would do just to stir crap in
the group.
If you object to people not using real names, if you believe personal
information should be made public, then you should lead by example.

MVP Microsoft valued person lol an award given to people for there
previous 12 months effort in helping people with Microsoft Products
anyone can add MVP at the end of there name, and then claim to want to
remain anonymous, now while looking at if it was possible to lodge a
complaint about people that claim to be or who are, I find that
basically what was a good idea is totally undermined by people being
rude, and arrogant and then finding that there is no way to verify there
MVP award or complain about them
so to me MVP is basically rendered as useless and deserves no more
merit than anything else anyone posts on a forum claiming to be.
which I think is a real shame as I am sure that there are genuine
people out there who give there time for free to help promote and
support Microsoft products, and to help educate less experienced users,
while managing to maintain a high level of decorum and politeness.
I don't ask or expect MVPs to use their real names and reveal private
information in public newsgroups, it's an unreasonable demand that would
only be made by crack pots or by someone who is very new to Usenet!
I think that you can trust that most who use the MVP title in their posts
are in fact MVPs. Most people are honest by nature, there are some who lie
and try to deceive but most people aren't that low. If an MVP is challenged
about his or her status he can easily prove his status and put the challenge
to rest. You can be sure that those who will not put the challenge to rest
do not do so because they are not MVPs and they cannot make a proof to the
contrary. Certainly anyone who makes constant personal attacks against well
known competent individuals is not an MVP, anyone who makes these attacks in
his or her signature is not an MVP!
I find that most MVPs are polite and helpful and that most are quite
knowledgeable in their field. MVPs are like the rest of us, they are only
human, some are better than others, they don't know everything and they do
make mistakes, they're not perfect. Like the rest of us some MVPs can be a
bit testy and brash, they too sometimes have "bad hair days"! We all know
that for some of us every day is a bad hair day, it's human nature, some are
a bit more patient than others.
There are also many others who post here who are not MVPs but who are as
knowledgeable or more knowledgeable than the MVPs.
D. is from Maryland, PCButts is from California.

I simply don't trust anyone who is unwilling to post over or under his full
name here in USENET -- not just a first name.
For women, I think the rules should be different. They can use just a first
name -- but it must be The Real One.
Of course, if women choose to use their full names that's fine too.
Anyone who doesn't follow those rules is not worthy of trust on anything.

How do we know that you're D. Spencer Hines? For all we know, you're
Charles Manson II or, worse, Sarah Palin.
