Mute Always on

Hello all,

My sound is always muted when I on my computer. I have to go to Control
Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices and uncheck mute before I get any sound from
my computer.

How can I change it to ON by default ?

Try device mgr,expand the tree for sound,R.click on the sound hardware (all),
one at a time,select uninstall,when thru,exit device mgr,shutdown pc.If a PCI
sound card is installed,power off pc,move card to another slot,start pc.XP
will
reinstall either on restart.

I tried uninstall all drivers and when I restart my PC, it goes back to same
scenario with speaker muted.
