Mustek MFC600S scanner interface card

Hi All,

I have a Mustek MFC600S scanner. I had it connected to an old computer
using the proprietaty OEM Mustek card. It is an ISA card. That computer bit the
dust over the weekend. I have another computer (newer) that only has PCI slots
and no ISA slots. If I get a SCSI interface card such as the Adaptec 2906, will
that work, or do I need to get an OEM Mustek card ???

You should be OK with any PCI SCSI card that has the correct connector for
your scanner.
Windows XP has the built in drivers for most Adaptec SCSI cards.

One of the cheapest places to buy an Adaptec 2906 is Ebay.

The Adaptec 2906 is as close to a universal SCSI card as you can get,
the other is the Adaptec 2940. But still check the manual / Mustek web
site as scanners have always been fussy about SCSI cards. I'm running
about 50-50 on SCSI cards from Ebay, but they are so cheap I keep
going back. I have both these cards and XP runs well with both. But
with a Nikon LS2000 scanner I had to download the Adaptec drivers,
wouldn't run with the Microsoft ones. Again check the documentation.

You will probably need the XP drivers from Adaptec. I had a similar
situation with a Nikon scanner and had to go this route.
