must my computer be on to send delayed email

I am going to be out of the office and want to send an email while I'm gone.
I put the date I want to send in the options; however, if my computer is not
on will my email be sent? I know it's a dumb question, but I don't know the
answer

yes, unless you're mail server is Exchange.

Your computer will also need to be on if you have Outlook 2003 with Exchange
and are using Cached Exchange Mode.
