Made the mistake of loading XP on my second computer with same XP disk and
now I receive activation message on it. So I bought full install version of
XP prof. and want to activate. Question:
Can I just put the CD Key from the disk I just bought for the Activation
process? or do I have to re-install it over the unactivated xp?

Not necessarily. To change the key on the fly, try reading this articles:

Hope this helps.

I use non Microsoft products wherever possible which requires no activation.

I use Netscape 7.2 as my default browser which has everything I need for my work.

If you want the features of XP Pro, install it over XP Home. I haven't done
it but it should be like any other upgrade. It shouldn't wipe out your
programs or files, just update the operating system and it's features.
Don't forget your updates after the upgrade if you choose to do so. Many
say a clean install is best. I agree, as long as you can back up all your
files and you have the time to re-install all your programs.

For the Product Key to work, it must be the exact same version.
Click on the link below, or copy and paste the link into the address box
if using the web based newsgroup.
Change Product key.

This should work, if you purchased the same type of license as was
used to perform the installation:
