Must autocorrect block out the current word doc.?

O

Old Jonners

Earlier versions of Word enabled me to access Autocorrect from the toolbar
leaving my document on screen. Now I have to make several selections and then
the screen is totally blocked by the system response and I cannot return to
my document without exiting autocorrect. I want to highlight passages and
create autocorrect for them.

Hi Old,

I'm guessing you're using Word 2007. Are you saving a new entry to AutoText or AutoCorrect?

AutoText has expanded from one gallery, organized by Word style name, to 36 individual Building Block galleries (with Autotext being
one gallery) that are primarily organized by function, but in practice by naming convention.

To add a selected item to AutoCorrect you can use Alt, T, A
To add a selected item to AutoText/Building block gallery use Alt+F3.
Select the 'AutoText' gallery if you prefer.

You can review, modify, organize the Building Block entries via
Insert=>Quick Parts=>Building Block Organizer.

To insert an Autotext/building block choice you can type the first few characters of a unique name and then F3.

You can also add any of the galleries individually to the Quick Access Toolbar from Office Button=>Word Options=>Customize (Alt, F,
I, C)
