Music Playback speed

When I play a music CD or a music file with Windows media player 9, the music
is played back double speed. It sounds like an old 45 rpm played at 78rpm.
Any help?
 
I had the same issue, I had to update my system drivers, and audio drivers.
It happened on a Dell Optiplex.
