Music files malfunction after drive reformatted

Skip

Following reformat of C drive using restore CD &
reinstallation of programs, all mp3 files (backed up to D
drive, then recopied back to C) play at "chipmunk" speed
(faster than normal), even if played from D (backup)
drive. Sound card, Media Player, and W2K updated drivers
applied w/ no help. Music files malfunction regardless of
player used (Media Player, MusicMatch, or whatever. Files
copied to another computer via flashdrive play fine. Any
ideas?

This is usually caused by the incorrect sound card drivers having been
loaded. You may have to double check the actual model you have vs. what
PNP loaded for you.
