Hi
I have hundreds of mp3's /wav / wma files scattered all over my computer
that I'm trying to get under control. Any reccommendations for a program
that can catalogue, build playlists, burn playlists and, most important to
me, have excellent search and sort functionality. For instance, if I wanted
to find all songs with the word 'love' in the title, or do a wild card
search, or other multicriteria search

I don't care much for Windows media player, although many people swear by
it. I would like to make room on my primary computer and move all music to
an external drive, in addition to ripping tracks from cds and albums. I'd
like something powerful and customizable.

MusikCube has excellent search capabilities, and a very flexible
playlist creation function. It is also very light, and you can adapt the
interface to your preferences.

It does have a CD ripper, but I never tested it - I use EAC instead
