music clips in powerpoint

Jan

I have several powerpoint presentations with music clips.
When I create them in .pps shows, the music plays as I've
set it. How do I get the music to play when I send the
file via email to someone. They can play the show no
problem, but the midi file (music) isn't there to play.

Thanks
Jan

You need to send the midi file along with the presentation because it isn't
embedded in the presentation file. To make sure that it will work on other
systems, do the following:

1. Place the midi file in the same folder as the presentation file.
2. Open the presentation in PowerPoint and delete the midi file, then
re-insert it.
3. Save the presentation.
4. Zip up the two files.
5. Email the zip file and instruct the end user to unzip it to their hard
drive and then double click on the .PPS file.

Try inserting the sound files into slide transitions.
That will embed the sound file so you won't have to deal
with multiple files........TD

Hi Jan,

PowerPoint can embed .avi audio files up to 5 megs. Of
course this means your presentation will grow in size as
you embed the audio files. You will need to convert you
midi audios to .avi files (there are several shareware
apps that you can do this with if you need an
application). Then you will need to increase PowerPoint's
default of 100k to 50000k (TOOLS >> OPTIONS >> GENERAL
tab >> LINK SOUNDS WITH FILE SIZE GREATER THAN).
