Music and my linksys wireless conection

I have a 2.6 GHz with 512 memory and a cable modem
conection. When playing music my network performance
basically stops. I have done all the basic checks with
diagnostics and check IRQ settings but i can not find the
problem.

Any ideas?

does your music application hang or does it simply stop?

How fast is your internet connection and what level of music are you picking
to playback?
