Multiple reinstallation issue

For some reason I reinstalled Office XP and 2003 suites three times (first
was office XP, then 2003, then office XP again).
Each reinstallation process of huge application definitely causes various
multiple changes in operating system. Can this affect on general system
stability in any ways? (Registry cluttering, other, etc) Does reinstallation
clean previous registry entries?

Regards,
S.

The only thing that I can think of that would cause issues with this is
multiple installation/uninstalls being located in the system directory and
possibly a fairly fragmented hard drive.

There are things left behind by an Office uninstall, but once you've
installed an app, the subsequent installations will simply overwrite them,
not add to them. Of course, you have installed both O2K3 and OXP, so,
assuming you uninstall all of them, you'll have a lot of stuff that is
common to the two versions and some stuff from each version left over.

That said, there should be little or no affect on your OS, and Registry
entries or files left behind are 99.9999% harmless and take up little room
in the overall scheme of things.

Cause hard drive fragmentation in spite of subsequent installation goes over
previous?

Yes and a little bit. Why are you so worried about fragmentation? The small
amounts of fragmentation I'm talking about shouldn't affect performance.
