Multiple Profiles

Hi all, I have multiple profiles/email addresses setup in Outlook, and
depending on who I am sending a message to, I would like to switch which
email address I am sending from. (ie. if I am emailing a client, I would
want to send it form our "support" address. But if I'm emailing someone on a
technical issue, I would like to send it from our "dev" address). I have
tired using the "From:" option when composing an email, but I get "You do
not have permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user.",
no matter what email address I try to send from. What am I missing? And how
come it seems like Outlook Express can do more the Outlook? It can handle
multiple accounts better, you can have news groups, etc....

Thanks in advance,

Jerry

Sorry, I should have been more specific. It's Outlook 2000 SP-3. We have
both Exchange & Internet accounts, but for this I think I'm only concerned
with the internet accounts.

1. Make sure you don't mix Exchange & POP in the same mail profile - this
isn't supported in versions of Outlook prior to OL2002 and will cause
problems.
2. Sounds like you need to close Outlook and open the other profile you wish
3. Since you have Exchange, it would be better to set up Exchange to handle
all your Internet mail directly rather than using POP. You can assign 'send
as' rights to yourself on other mailboxes so you can use the From field, or
use a third party addin to send mail as additional addresses (not
default/reply) on your Exchange mailbox.
