multiple problems..shut downs , errors

I lost my last hard drive trying to download sp2..multiple errors everytime i
tried to install..bought NEW XPhome program and started anew..Tried to
download sp2 again and it errored so we stopped trying to download it at
all...My computer shuts down all the time..sends error reports and freezes
doing that..went to support section and says bad image dll error..cannot get
help that way...I cannot get my virus program to check my registry for
errors..it says scanner not installed...I had AOL installed and it too had
errors it could not fix..so I didn;t install it this time..Windows keeps
wanting me to download SP2, but it errors during installation and messes up
this computer even more.,..I have checked device drivers and they all are
current..Do I have a faulty Windows XP CD??? help..i have hundreds of error
reports !!!

At this point, I would suggest you perform a clean install of XP. You need
to boot from the XP install CD to do this.
