I need to print 20 powerpoint slides (in order) on a large plotter page 36" x
72"

How would I do this? Powerpoint only allows 9 slides on a single page.

Some printer drivers allow you to ask for X-pages per sheet; I don't know of
any that do 20, but I don't know much. Check the driver settings for the
plotter.

For printing from PPT to large format, see this:

Your best bet may be to export all of the slides as images or wmf files, then
bring them into/lay them out in a DTP or drawing program (Corel Draw, MS
Publisher, PageMaker, InDesign, Name it, Claim it, AnythingButWord)

Depending on your plotter's capabilities, you might be able to do this with
PowerPoint and HandOut Wizard.

Some plotter's can be set to double the output size, so printing a 18 by 36
slide doubled, will give you the poster size you need.

HandOut Wizard will let you arrange and incorporate the 20 slide miniatures
easily.
