I have a link in a index linked to a graph at the end of document
would like to have a link from graph back to index for easy reading without
creating two links and two bookmarks. is this possible?

After clicking a hyperlink you can return to the original position b
[Alt]+<Left Arrow>. Does this do the trick for you

The problem with alt+left arrow is that the normal reader does not know about
those keys. I normally insert a symbol and link it back with a bookmark. THis
however is quite time consuming

Assuming you have your headings set up with a style, you can put [bac
to text] or similar behind the graph, and cross-reference this to th
heading where you put the [See graph X] reference. It still require
some work, though less elaborative than the bookmark method I think.
The method has its limitations, eg when people may arrive at the grap
from different text positions, or when the assigned paragraph i
lengthy.
Maybe it's a suggestion to put some reader's note "educating" th
reader by pointing them to use Alt+Left Arrow? This can be subtle
like in the above replacing [back to text] saying "for going back t
the text, press Alt + Left Arrow"
