multiple "home " pages open up

when i click the internet icon, at times, i will get a
barrage of home pages all of a sudden opening up, (at a
rate of about 2 per second). the ONLY way i have been able
to keep up and close them is through task manager, rapidly
clicking the "end process" button. what causes this? as i
said it happens "occasionally". thank you.

Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com and follow this:
1. Start Ad-Aware.
2. Click [Check for Updates] [Connect] and download the latest pattern file if available. and click Finish
3. Click [Start] [Next] (System will now detect the spyware)
4. After the scan is finished, click [Next]
5. Select all the items (checkboxes)
Right click on any object in the "Scan result" list and choose [Select all objects]
6. Click Next and click OK to confirm spyware removal.
