Multiple files open "requesting virus scan"

The last couple days when I open a file in Excel 2002, it
displays "requesting virus scan" and I end up with thirty-
some Excel files open. I just ran a Windows update
against my Windows XP, otherwise no changes recently. I
have Norton 2002.
 
Nothing to do with Excel, it is a NAV issue, change the setting. Maybe the
windows update reset some settings in NAV.

Did some kind soul "from Microsoft" send you the update or did you go
to Microsoft and get it?
Unless you actively went and got the update I'd suspect the update!!!
