Win2000 SP4 with automatic updates turned on.

My App log says 3,666 events, but the right-side where the events should be
listed is blank. Also, if I try to right-click and Save As, I can save it as
an 870K EVT file, but if I try it as a TXT or CSV file, it's 0K (that's zero
K, not okay).

Of course, if I save it as an EVT then open that file with the Event Viewer,
it's still blank.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Possible the application.evt file is corrupt. Control Panel|Administrative
Tools|Services|Event Log Service|General, set the "Startup Type:" to
"Disabled" restart the pc, then delete (or move) the corrupt application.evt
file from %windir%\system32\config then set the Event Log Service "Startup
Type:" back to "Automatic", restart for effect.
