Hi gurus
I have come across a strange 'event' (pardon the pun) wherby I am unable to
view all of the event log on a domain controller.
I have rebooted in safe mode in attempted to shut down the event service (no
go as I thought it might be so). I am unable to rename the evt files as a
result.
What is interesting, we do have a service that files upon reboot (but have
no way of knowing which one - I do believe it is the event service as we are
unable to restart it upon login (all menu items are greyed out). When we
attempt to view the logs, we actually see the event log before it
disappears!
Can any one provide any resources for this one? Hotfix, Article. We are
running SP4. WOuld reapplying the latest service pack help here?
Any direction would be much appreciated
