Multiple domain replication

I have two physical sites one at headquaters and another at Disaster Recovery site hosting Windows 2000 Advanced Servers. The headquaters is in domain, test.com and the DR site is in a private domain called dr-test.com. How can I replicate the active directory data from HQ to DR site over a WAN link? Is it possible?

AD does not replicate domain specific data across domain
boundaries -- the Config, Schema, and GC partitions of the
database do replicate.

So, yes -- replication of the above items is automatic across
sites (WANs) if you setup the Sites and Services correctly;
and if you want domain data in a site you must put a DC from
the domain in that site.

Is there any way I can force replicating the AD objects across multiple
domains? Any scripts like....

What specifically do you wish to replicate?

AD does not replicate the information from on DOMAIN
(partition) to a different domain. That really doesn't even
make sense as the objects would be useless there for any
normal purpose.

Just put a DC from the desired domain in the locations
where it is needed or tell us what you really wish to
accomplish....

Chances are you have some deeper goal in mind and just
believe that this is the way to achieve it when there might
be other methods.

Thanks Herb

I am having a strange type of network setup which for some
reason I can't redesign now

My main concern here is how to do replication between DC'S
I have a DC at HQ under woolworths.com (DC1.wools.com) and
another DC at disaster recovery site called woolsdr.co
(DRDC.woolsdr.com). My predessor used to rebuilt the dr dc
in a period of three months for updating the active
directory, somehow which I am not clear. If possible, how
to do this? After joing the domain and replicating the
active directory how to change the domain name back to
XX.woolsdr.com from XX.wools.com without disturbing the
replicated data

Thank

I doubt your real requirements would be serviced properly
by your actual request here. Forests and domains don't
work that way and never have -- maybe never will.

If you are trying to arrange disaster recovery, this is all wrong.

There are much easier and more effective ways to do that and
even keep it up to date daily, weekly etc (instead of every 3
months.)

You cannot do this. DCs belong to A domain. To 'unjoin'
them would be to through away their DCs info.

Do this:
Install an ACTUAL DC for the domain. Make sure it
replicates.

Make a system state backup of a DC regularly (weekly
or nightly).
