Multiple copies of emails with Rules applied.

Apparently I have set multiple rules for the same emails and now I get 3 or 4
copies of the same email in different folders. How can I turn off the rules
so I can limit 1 rule per sender?

Include "stop processing more rules" in each of your rules.
