Multiple accounts - HELP !

L

Leigh Edlin

Hi

I am sharing a computer with my partner and we both want separate email
addresses. I have managed to set up two accounts, 1 is
(e-mail address removed) and the other is (e-mail address removed) .

The problem is, she receives my emails and I receive her emails! . . . .
WHAT TO DO?? how (if I can) can I set up outlook to filter emails to her to
go to her log in account? and emails to me to go to my log in account?

really confused!

hope you can help guys!

Use profiles.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Leigh Edlin asked:

Unfortunately that won't work - the addresses are aliases. See my other post
in this thread on how to fix - (this only seems to work with Freeserve btw!)

The solution is as follows:
1. Set up a second mail profile. (Control Panel - Mail)
2. In the first Profile, set the Mail account User name to
"me+xxxx.freeserve.co.uk" (without the quotes)
3. In the second profile, set up the mil user name to be
"her+xxxx.freeserve.co.uk" (again without the quotes)
This ensures that profile 1 will only download mail addressed to
(e-mail address removed) and Profile 2 will only download mail addressed to
(e-mail address removed). The only downside is that you will NOT download
any mail addressed to "anything other than me and her"@xxxx.freeserve.co.uk
but as 99.9999% of this will be spam anyway, just use mailwasher once a
month or so to clear it out.
And yes this does work, I used it very successfully for years when I
subscribed to Freeserve.

Thanks for that Gordon

When you say use (Control panel - mail) I am not sure what you mean. I am
using Outlook express 6. I cannot see an option for mail in control panel.

Thanks

Outlook EXPRESS is NOT the same program as Outlook!

In OE, File-Identities-Manage Identities-Create New Identity.
