multimedia audio controller

In hardware of device manager multimedia audio device has yellow sign
indicating not installed. the device is a unimodem full duplex audio device.
unable to download any driver from windows website or xp cd. os is xp pro.
amd athlon xp2800 chip. driver detail shows diigtally signed certificate by
microsoft office publisher.
What do you suggest to correct. I get no sound. Also if i go to sound
controller or volume control I get no mixer devices.

Hi, perhaps you should tell us what brand of modem, and soundcard you
have. If it's built it, you need to find out the motherboard model
number.

There are free system information tools such as aida32, everest, and
belarc advisor to assist with this.
