Hello - slightly exasperated.

Running XP pro (32 bit I think) SP2

Wish to use Greek symbols in M'Word - Changing language to Greek fails to
work.
So from knowledge base think I should download Microsoft Office XP SP2 for
MUI.

When I download it, but when I want to instal/run it, it won't proceed & I
get the following dialogue:-

"expected version of product not found"

Being from Earth, I do not understand what this message means or what to do
next.
Can anyone help with this problem?
Thanx ..... parks

Hi Parks from Earth... this is stefan from Mars ;P :)

Seriously now...

Before installing Office XP SP2 for MUI, you must first install the
following

- Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)
- Office XP Service Pack 1 for Multilingual User Interface Pack

Then install the Microsoft Office XP SP2 Multilingual User Interface Pack

Oh, and you're going to need to have the original office cd handy.

Dear Stefan - thanx for this VERY clear instruction - most helpful. However,
now I have the further problem that the Operating Sysatem was pre-installed,
so that I dont have any CD!

Is there any answer to this additional problem? Otherwise I will have to
get in touch with my laptop supplier for the O/S CD.

(in this Multilanguage world, I cant understand why MUI isnt part of the
general software!!)

Well, if I had a potential customer base of a couple of millions then even
1% piracy can be a tremendously enormous amount. So logically if I sell
setups localized according to their geographic location then I would
technically be containing any potential piracy in one country to cross to
another.

That's my reasoning from a business point of view... since factually I
full agree with you :)

As for your not having the original CD... well... then that means you
should have a license, it's a silver sticker that changes colour like a cd
according to the light (whatever they call that).

If you have the said license, then your copy is legal, and you can write
to Microsoft whom I am sure will oblidge and send you another copy...
since technically it is the license you buy, not the software itself...
but if you don't have the license... then you need to get one :\

Dear Stefan - you're a star! I'll try that. wish all the other answers I get
to knowledge base ?'s were as clear.
