Multihoming for high speed backups

My company has a single Windows 2000 domain with 2 DCs. Currently, all servers in the domain have a single network card wired to a 100Mb switch. We are interested in increasing the speed of our nightly backups and would like to install fiber gigabit cards in all our servers and wire the gigabit cards with fiber cable to a private fiber gigabit switch, the net effect being faster backups and reduced impact on the production network

Is there someone out there who has done this and can provide the proper steps for accomplishing this task on all servers, including the DCs (i.e. IP configuration, RRAS configuration, Registry modifications and/or other tasks etc...)? My hope is that there is a workaround for the DCs, despite Microsoft's recommendation to NOT multihome DCs

If I have left out any critical need-to-know information please let me know and I would be happy to supply it

Thanks

The reason why you don't want to multihome a DC is that the DC will register
both interfaces in DNS etc.

But... there have been some cases that I have been involved with were we did
get this work. The configuration and changes needed are much more then what
you should discuss in a newsgroup. If you are willing, go ahead and open a
support case. It will be worth the money in the long run.

Basically here are a few articles to get you pointed in the right direction.
But I would still open a support call.
