Multihomed W2K for backup internet access

G

Guest

I have a W2K box with 2 NICS. IP addresses are on different networks. 1 NIC is connected to an Internet router. The other one to a different internet router. The reason for this is to have the second NIC as a backup internet access in case the first one is inaccesible due to ISP problems.

The idea is to be able to access the machine from the internet via 2 different IP addresses. Things work fine for some time but after a few hours (2 to 8 hours) one of the NICs stops responding until I disable and enable it.

Both NICs have static IP addresses and each NIC has one of the routers as default gateways.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance
Jos
