Hi Guys,

As the topic suggests, I have a system that is multibooting XP+Win2K.

I want to remove WInXP.

Whats the best way to do this? Can I just delete the XP directory and
edit the boot.ini?

I assume at the mo XP in in control of the boot order?

Cheers

Yes to all of the above even though you should rename
the WinXP folder to "Windows.XP" and leave it there
for a week, just in case.

WinXP and Win2000 share the same boot file names.
The WinXP versions will work very nicely for a Win2000
boot.

I am not sure how to edit the boot.ini - what lines am I looking to
delete?

What will a 2k / xp boot.ini look like?

Cheers

This is exactly what you need to follow - it describes what you're in need of.

Just a note:

you want to remove the following line to disable Windows XP from booting:

multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

chong -_-

notepad c:\boot.ini

Save the original in some other place, then remove
the lines that refer to Windows XP.
