Multiboot Startup issues with NT/XP Pro

Hello, I run NT and XP Pro on separate partitions on the same PC and recently
experienced startup problems with NT, which then requested the Emergency
Repair Disk. After NT booted up OK and all errors corrected, I then went to
restart with XP and had probs, startup keeps using 'NTDETECT' and giving an
error message and will not start up XP. What can I do repair the XP startup
functionalities ?

For NTFS:

1.. Insert and boot from your WindowsXP CD.
2.. At the first R=Repair option, press the R key
3.. Press the number that corresponds to the correct location for the
installation of Windows you want to repair.
4.. Enter in the administrator password when requested
5.. Enter in the following commands (X: is replaced by the actual drive
letter that is assigned to the CD ROM drive.
COPY X:\i386\NTLDR C\:
COPY X:\i386\NTDETECT.COM C:\
6.. Take out the CD ROM and type exit

See previous email plus what is described below.

P.S. See http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

This will rebuild boot.ini

1. Type: attrib -h -r -s C:\boot.ini del C:\boot.ini

2. Type: BootCfg /Rebuild

which will get rid of any damaged boot.ini, search the disk for systems and
make a new one. This might even result in a damaged windows reappearing; but
gives another chance of getting at the repair"
