Hi,

my prob is : I can't see anybody in "network places" with win2k, even if I
can ping every one and i can go trought microsoft network. Is there
somebody what I should do for being able to see the other computer on the
network and allow me having access to a printer share on the win98 machine ?

I'm logging as "agent1" who is a member of the administrator group.

Thanks

Carl

Hello,

This is an issue with the computer browser service. This service maintains
a list of the computers on your network by thier netbios name. Here is an
article that talks about troubleshooting these types of issues. My
suggestion is for browsing to consistently work you should install a WINS
server and point all of the clients at this server for WINS. Remember that
name resolution among all browsers is critical and that the first thing to
do is to establish a robust name resolution infrastructure with WINS. A lot
of time can be wasted trying to track down browser issues, which are really
caused by name resolution problems.
