I am running XP SP2 with Win 2000 on the machine on another partition. How do
I build a boot.ini file with the two operating systems showing as boot
choices?
Thanks

Hi Dud,

What operating system was installed first? Win 2000 should be on the
Drive C: partition and then install Windows XP on D: partition. The
installation process will create the dual-boot choices for you.

Win2000 is on the boot drive. Xp is on D drive. I installed 2000 first and
then XP. When the machine boots it goes to XP. No boot menu.
This happened before. There is an option to search the drives for bootable
operating systems, but I can't find it. I have tried bootcfg, but nothing
there.
Thanks for your help and I will keep trying...

Hi Dub,

Start Right-click My Computer and click Properties. Click on Advanced
Click Settings under Startup and Recovery. Look under Default operating
system:

Now you said it happened before. How many Hard Drives are installed and
their sizes? Are the Hard Drive(s) partitioned? If you have two bootable
Hard Drives in the computer, in the Computer can you select which the
computer boots to first?

The Computer Bios Boot Order may have changed, which is why you are
having problems. What brand of Bios is installed? Can you access Computer
BIOS? The Key to press is usually listed on the opening screen. Look in each
Menu, until you find it. The Menus to go into are usually in the Left side
of the screen.
