I just cannot understand why microsoft can't find the loopholes faster than
the people who are finding and abusing them. It seems to me that MS must
have FAR superior technical knowledge to the bad guys, and doesn't MS
have a department to find and repair loopholes before they are exploited?
What we are seeing appears to be "crisis management", which is loosely
defined as being so far behind in your job that you don't have time to do
anything but put out fires, which are cropping up faster than you can put
them out because you got behind in your job. Surely, money is not a problem,
so that leaves only the possibility that the loopholes can not be predicted???

attachment,but then to open a zip file and execute the contents.

There is no way to protect the OS from user imposed problems.

Unless the user is not using an MS OS. This worm can only do it's damage if
the user opens the attachment in Windows. It the size of the target that
being exploited here. Had this worm been written to run on the MacOS, most
of us wouldn't even have heard about it.
