.msp files

I am unable to remove some microsoft programs, repair or
update them, particularly excel. Apparently it is saying
it is an installer patch problem with .msp files. Does
anyone know how to fix this? I have been working on this
since 9pm, its now 3am!! I need to get this fixed by
tomorrow (today actually) to get some updates/add-ins to
excel to complete some work due tonight. If anyone can
assist you would make my day!!!

Hi, Don't know if this will help, but I had basically the

same problem and it helped me.
I went to the CP's manufacturer site and updated all that
I could, then to 'MSN Update site', had OS scanned and
downloaded all 'recommended updates'.
