MSN Toolbar Suite (Beta) Being Detected as Spyware

Gil Morris

After installing the MSN Toolbar Suite (Beta) on a
Windows XP Professional SP 2 system, Microsoft
AntiSpyware repeatedly finds one [1] possible browser
hijack attempt, and references the MSN Toolbar Suite
(Beta), more specifically, it references the following
file path: http://g.msn.com/0SEENUS/SAOS01?FORM=TOOLBR.

I accepted the initial "blue" information warnings upon
installing the MSN Toolbar Suite (Beta) alerting me that
a program had been installed and detailing the Windows
Shell changes that were being made. Upon looking at the
Browser Restore option in Microsoft AntiSpyware, I find
that the Current & Restore settings are using the toolbar
information above (the one being detected as a possible
hijack), and the Internet Default is set to
http://home.microsoft.com/search/lobby/search.asp (which
i take it is normal...).

Is there any way possible that anyone knows of to
allow/compensate for the addition of the MSN Toolbar
Suite (Beta), so that it will not be detected in future
scans...without Ignoring it. I am assuming that a way
exists since both applications are Microsoft products.
ANy help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in
advance.

Disable Microsoft AntiSpyware from the system tray before attempting
installation of MSN Toolbar suite. This would be expected of Microsoft
AntiSpyware since MSN Toolbar suite is a browser helper object which are
well known for malicious stuff, MSN Toolbar suite can be excluded from this
though.
