MSN Msgr Passport

I have recently signed up to .NET Passport with a gmail account, and I am
wondering if anyone could explain to me why I can't change my nickname on msn
messenger when I use my new passport. I have friends who have
non-msn/hotmail accounts signed up with a passport and have access to the
"nickname" space, but it's non-clickable for me. Any help is greatly
appreciated.

When you create a new .NET password you can't set a nickname until they
have sent a check email to the address you give, and you have responded
by going to the URL given in that to confirm that it is OK. This can
typically take three days or so to arrive. If longer, you may have been
caught by a Gmail spam filter?
