MSN Messenger vs Windows Messenger (SP2)

Gidday Jonathan from Sydney Aust!

At the moment I am using MSN Messenger 6.1.0211 (I don't
use Windows Messenger) & was going to download v6.2 until
I read this:

"MSN Explorer Detected
MSN Explorer is installed on this computer. Please be
aware that some features of MSN Explorer may not work
correctly with the latest version of MSN Messenger.

Q1: Are you aware of what (MSN Explorer) features are non-
operational as stated above?

Q2: Prior to (WinXp) SP2 arriving - do you recommend
downloading & installing MSN Messenger 6.2 ?

Q2: Do you know just when (WinXP) SP2 going to be
released for Windows Updates?

Thankyou for you time.

Greetings Garry,

You would've actually gotten this message when you installed any version of MSN Messenger 6.x
(including 6.1). As such, there's really nothing to worry about here.

A1. The "Contacts" in MSN Explorer that comes with XP is designed to work with Windows
Messenger exclusively, as such, this functionality won't work with MSN Messenger 6.x.

A2. You can do it before or after, it's just a separate application and really doesn't have
much affect on SP2 (SP2's firewall will automatically give it the necessary permissions).

A3. I think it's sometime next week (don't quote me on that)...
