MSN messenger ver 6.0 disconnects

I have a reoccuring problem with MSN messenger ver 6. I
uninstalled and reinstalled it but when I am sending
messages all of a sudden I get my system tray informing
me of network connection unplug and then instantly it
shows me connected again; however, my messenger shuts off
and disconnects me telling me I'm not signed in.
WHY? and help

Are you sure you are connected to the Internet?
If you are and you still cannot connect to MSN Messenger,
the .NET Messenger Service might be temporarily
unavailable. You can check its status on the .NET Service
Status page.
