MSN Messenger not working

I can sign on Windows messenger with no problem but when I try to sign on
with MSN Messenger I get an error message. The message tells me unable to
connect to .NET Messenger Service due to problem with the service or my
internet connection. There has never been a service problem when I check and
I have internet service.

Greetings PRG,

Since one works and the other does not, it's possible that you may have some sort of
third-party firewall utility which is blocking one but not the other. If you're using
something like ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security, etc. you may need to open its
configuration screen and under the "Allowed Programs", add MSN Messenger (which is located in
\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe).
