MSN messenger - log in problems

I cannot get it to log in.. it just times out. I have checked the firewall
etc and its fine. I have also logged into my account via MSN. Not sure why
its giving me grief?! mmm.

jeez the arogance of some people..
Let me expand on the subject, obviously if its posted in the vista general
section then its vista related ok..
basically Messenger logs in fine in Win XP but it will not log in using
Vista.. ok
If your going to reply let it be constructive and not childish.

Since he posted from a Vista installation I assume the problem is on Vista
and he found the group appropriate.

Hey I got EXACTLY the same problem as Neil, I recently installed Vista and my
Windows Live Messenger won't log in (actually, it does, after a minute or so,
but it will quickly log off again), Windows firewall already is unblocked for
this program, any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem as this using Vista build 5600 and build
5744. Any ideas would be greatly welcomed.

Windows Live Messenger working great, here.
No problems whatsoever.
In fact, never have had issues, in any Vista build.
except a flashplayer one, but that was fixed.
might want to get the newest build of messenger,
http://ideas.live.com/
if ya have old flash, upgrade it to flashplayer 9, as there is a known issue
with older flash and WLM.
Adobe fixed it in their latest build of flashplayer 9.

I have the same problem aswell, but i dont get as fair as you. As soon as i
open MSNmessenger is says that it has stopped working! Ive tryied everything,
checking the firewall, uninstalling and uninstalling it, Installing the newer
version on Flash. There is no reason for it not to work. I only got this new
acer computer with windown Vista installed on it 2 weeks ago and ive have no
problem with Windows Live messenger till now!!??

I am having problems too. Everytime I try and log into windows on my new
Vista laptop I got an error message 81000378. I have searched the net and
tried all the 'given' fixes i.e. using older versions of messenger, typing in
commands in cmd, checking the firewall but none of them have worked.

Not being very technical hasn't helped either, but if anyone has any ideas
please let me know!
I know this is vista related a I just came round to my sisters and logged in
to my msn with no problems.

Ok just thought I would let everyone know...

today I noticed that the time & date settings on my new laptop were wrong, I
put them right and voila msn started working!

Freaky but true!

Every time i try and log on to msn i always have trouble..?
I always waith about 10 ins and it never seems to work.. i have only just
got the internet and i no how to use it very well but im having trouble to
load it properly but i have downloaded it right..

What shall i do..?
