MSN Messenger is locking up

I'm running XP SP2 with full updates, and for some reason today,
messenger is locking up when I try to start a message, or type in an
existing message window. I have to fir eup task manager and kill the
process just to make it go away.

I'm unable to find anything on google about the problem, and was
wondering if anybody else has had the problem and if you've found a
solution.

As far as programs go, I'm running Office 2007, AVG Free, and nothing
out of the ordinary.
