MSN Messenger: can it become my default messenger service?

I'm running XP Home, and I've been using Windows Messenger
4.7. I'm wondering if i uninstall windows messenger, will
MSN Messenger 6 become my default? Even within Windows
applications like Explorer (will there be a button in the
tool bar?) and Outlook Express?

No -- applications that load Windows Messenger now, will continue to use Windows Messenger.
