MSN homepage slow to load

Hello folks,

I use MSN as my default homepage in Internet Explorer. It is extremely
slow to load compared to other machines behind my cable router. It is only
the MSN page that seems to load extremely slowly for this machine, most
other pages quickly load.

Further to this issue, it appears that all graphic-intensive site cause the
processor of this troubled machine to spike up to 100% until the page(s)
finish loading. A process call "system" gluts well over 2/3 of the processor
power when these web pages are loading. What might be the cause of this? I
have checked for spyware and found some minor cookies that could be deleted.
I also scanned for viruses using an updated NAV 2004 and found none.
