Checked with the Manufacturer about disc, who said that there was a "Recovery
Option" on the disc. Have got the following info.
Recovery Options:
1. Non-Destructive System Recovery.
The System Recovery program in this normal mode of operation, recovers
factory-shipped applications, drivers and the operating system without
affecting any data files that you may have created since purchasing this P.C.
2. System Recovery-Non Format.
This option will install a new operating system, while preserving all your
data. However, any Windows applications and settings will need to be
reinstalled to be maintained. All current files are moved to "My old Disk
Structure" directory !
3. System Recovery - Quick Format.
**Warning** This option will format the user partition on the hard disc and
recover all factory shipped files into the user partition. All your personal
files created and the applications installed after the P.C. was purchased
will be erased. If possible quit and back up your data files before trying
this destructive option.
It looks like I need to know which option is best although I think we can
rule out #3.

The computer is a Cicero SC8140 P4 2.4

Option 1. You will need to reinstall all Windows updates.

Hope this helps.

Borrowed my son's XP Home disc and tried Sfc /Scannow and was able to finish
the scan. Re-installed MSN Toolbar but get in "Search Tool Installation
Wizard". Could not write value to key
\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper
Objects\{BDBD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55Do}. Verify that you have
sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel. As I am the
administrator I cant make heads or tails of it. The toolbar installation is
working fine it is just the "Desktop Search" that wont start up.

Search for awhile but Have run Sfc /Scannow but that has not fixed the
problem. Tried option #1 on disc then get: "Problen in Extraction Process:
Windows\SYSTEM\CBINET.dll couldn't be opened". Then, Problem in Extration
Process: Windows\SYSTEM
32\CATROOT\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\IMS.CAT couldn't be found.
Have not tried searching from, Start-Search for a while but find that I cant
