Only allowed one search

In Windows Explorer I can do one search. If I try to do another search, even
for the same thing in the same folder, I get "Search complete. There are no
results to display."
At one time, I had another search program installed. MSN or desktop, I don't
remember what it was. When I uninstalled that, is it possible that the
registry was changed in a way that messed up Explorer's search? Any
suggestions on how to fix this?

Show the hidden files and folders
Rightclick C:\Windows\Inf\srchasst.inf Click install.
The required file is in ../I386 folder on the XP CD
